Description
The research associate will work with one or more faculty members in SCS performing various assignments related to computer science research. We have multiple openings available. These are temporary (fixed term) positions of varying length. Some of these positions may be part-time roles. Candidates for these positions will need to demonstrate an interest in advanced research, mastery of fundamental computer science concepts, curiosity, and dedication to continued learning. These positions are ideal for recent graduates at the undergraduate or masters level. Responsibilities of this job are likely to include several of the following: Develop or analyze software; build components Gather requirements Identify and resolve defects Design or conduct user studies, write and/or run simulations Design, develop, test, and deploy software tools Design or conduct user studies, write and/or run simulations Benchmark and evaluate system performance Carry out systems research, and or perform system testing Analyze datasets Write system documentation May assist with teaching for credit or professional education courses Develop conceptual and hands-on training content
Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Human-Computer Interaction, Computational Biology, or Electrical/Computer Engineering. Experience with team-or project-based work. Ability to learn advanced computer science concepts quickly.
