We are seeking a dedicated Transfill Technician. In this position you will be responsible for filling high-pressure oxygen tanks and operating relevant equipment.

  • Assists with implementation of quality improvement program to meet company and JCAHO standards

  • Completes written production and delivery documents accurately and legibly

  • Complies with all applicable company policies and procedures

  • Develops technical knowledge, as appropriate, of the HME or respiratory products and services provided by the company

  • Fills high-pressure oxygen tanks

  • Maintains filling equipment as necessary for safe operation

  • Manages territory to reach service goals for oxygen in accordance with industry standards, applicable government regulations and company policies and procedures

  • Participates in regular hazardous material handling training

  • Processes all orders in a timely and accurate manner

  • Report equipment hazards and/or products incidents in accordance with company policies and procedures

  • Performs other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None

Education and Experience

  • High School or equivalent

  • Ability to maintain certification necessary to fill and clean equipment

  • Ability to pass and maintain vendor training classes and become certified per manufacturer’s training

  • 1 year experience in related field

  • If required to substitute during staffing shortages of Transfill Delivery

  • Possess Commercial Driver’s License with hazardous materials and/or other endorsements as required by State

  • Meet qualifications according to Department of Transportation

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record in the state in which you reside

  • Employment is contingent upon a drug screening test and background investigation


  • Ability to clearly communicate and interact in a positive manner with other Rotech employees, patients, customers and vendors

  • Determine appropriate corrective actions for safety hazards or incidents

  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to learn

  • Possesses good written communication skills

  • Prioritize tasks to be performed for optimal efficiency

Physical Demands

  • Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking or listening

  • Requires close vision to small print on computer and or paperwork

  • Ability to lift in excess of 100 lbs. on a regular basis

  • At times requires driving a company vehicle for the majority of the workday

  • Requires the ability to load, unload, push, pull and lift equipment

Machines, Equipment and Technical Abilities

  • Understanding use of all applicable home medical equipment and supplies

  • Using common office equipment (e.g., phone, copier, fax, computer, etc.)

  • Internet, including knowledge of email transmission and communication

  • Operates machinery used for loading and unloading

Work Environment

  • Office, warehouse, field

  • Subject to extreme temperatures and climates

  • Warehouse environment

Departmental Interaction

  • Location Manager, Area Manager, and Region Manager

  • Communication with all location employees and repair technicians

  • All applicable customers, vendors and patients
