The primary function of this position is to conduct analyses of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) images of investigational radiotracer uptake in both clinical studies of humans and preclinical animal studies within the Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging division of the department of Radiology. Responsibilities will include semi-automated segmentation of human and animal brain and other organ regions within PET images, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and gamma counter analyses of blood and urine samples, fulfilling a supportive role in the data collection procedures associated with PET imaging studies, performing data entry, resolving data queries, and preparation of results for reports and manuscripts.
A Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year to 3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Preferred candidates must have Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, Biology, or related field with ability to program in MATLAB, some training in HPLC analysis and human anatomy also preferred. Candidates must also have some experience with image analysis software (e.g. Pmod or MIM), PET image reconstruction, compartmental modeling of radiotracer uptake, and be willing to work flexible hours
