*General Responsibilities *

The Patient Service Representative is responsible for managing all tasks related to the front desk area of a physician's practice, including scheduling, patient registration, patient check-out and co-pay processing, and handling and prioritizing telephone and mail communication.

Basic Qualifications

Education and Training: Education equivalent to completion of high school.

Skills: Knowledge of payer requirements (copays, referrals, etc.) Keyboarding and data entry skills; Excellent customer service skills; Basic Microsoft office skills; Basic emailing and internet accessing skills; Good written and verbal communication skills; Basic math skills; Ability to multitask; Ability to work in a fast paced environment; Attention to detail; Ability to work well with others as a team; Basic medical terminology.

Experience: One year of experience collecting insurance information and processing referrals.
