NightWing is supporting a U.S. Government customer on a large mission critical development and sustainment program to design, build, deliver, and operate a network operations environment, including introducing new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats. NightWing is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator to support the design, development, and deployment of advanced cybersecurity capabilities.

Responsibilities Include:

Maintains a virtual system environment in Remote/Hybrid location.

Supporting User Admin, Sys Admin, Documentation and cradle to grave SDLC support

Interacting with developers and infrastructure support team to provide vendor application support

Developing SOPs that provide policies and standards for sustainment of customer systems and resources

Participating in 24x7 schedules with fixed shift and possible weekend support.

Operating and maintaining all Production, Pre-Production, and Development systems in a Windows environment

Performing system administration to included AD, GPO Policies, Patching, Application Support, and activities to include service account management, monitoring and management of system resources (CPU, memory, disk, etc),

Monitoring and auditing system logs.

Implementing and monitoring the Enterprise Windows Servers testing and installation of patches, updates, additional tools and future versions of all software on a regular basis.

Meeting compliance for Information Security Vulnerability Management (ISVMs) and Intelligence Community Vulnerability Alert (ICVAs) and provide support for DoD STIGS.

Performing Systems Lifecycle management including planning, implementation, maintenance, upgrades, consolidation, and decommissioning of enterprise hardware, and software.

Managing system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the system is compatible with defined architecture and meets customer needs.

Required Skills:

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance

  • Must have active DHS Suitability

  • 6+ years of Window system administration

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows server and client administration (Server 2019 and Server 2022)

  • Experience building Windows Servers

  • Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy

  • Experience in application of STIGs to secure Windows services and applications

  • Experience with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)

  • Experience conducting Backups/Restore, ePO McAfee, VMware 7.0 and higher

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity SQL Server 2016

  • Experience work with ServiceNow

  • Experience with Altiris

  • Experience with SharePoint Server

  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019/2022

  • Experience working with JIRA, Tasks, Features, JIRA Align and Higher

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field. Two years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of degree level education.

Desired Certifications:

  • DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
