What You Will Do:

Work with our smallest patients! Sacred Heart is Northwest Florida’s only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to care for babies born premature or critically ill. Join our team of dedicated, caring nurses as we prepare to expand and transition to our brand new four-story Studer Family Children’s Hospital.

This expansion enables more critically ill and premature babies to receive specialized care from Northwest Florida's only children's hospital.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

  • Implement and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Schedule/Shift:

  • Two (12) hour shifts 7-7, rotating weekends.

  • There are 3 groups for the holidays: You will either work Thanksgiving and black Friday, Christmas eve and Christmas Day or New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. These groups rotate each year.

Beds/Patient Ratios:

  • Currently 67 beds, in the new hospital following our expansion it will be 72.

  • Assignments in level 2 are 1:3 or 1:4, level 3 is 1:2 or 1:1 depending on acuity.

What You Will Need:

Required Credential(s):

  • BLS Providercredentialed from theAmerican Heart Association (AHA)obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • LicensedRegistered Nursecredentialed from theFlorida Board of Nursingobtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Certificationspecializing inThe S.T.A.B.L.E Program.Preferred

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 1 Year of NICU Experience strongly preferred.
