We are looking for a Buyer to join our Gexpro Services team in Pensacola, FL.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all transactional procurement activities for Program and Discrete item replenishment for assigned service centers, customers, and/or supplier lines.

  • Issue purchase orders or internal transfers to fulfill customer backorders or other demand generated via established processes.

  • Daily review of critical items below reorder points, backordered, or stocked out for all assigned service centers, customers, and/or supplier lines. Expedite purchase orders where necessary to meet customer requirements.

  • Meet or exceed defined fill rates for stocked items.

  • Follow strategic sourcing initiatives by utilizing preferred sources and contract pricing whenever possible.

  • Meet or exceed inventory turns targets by effectively managing purchase orders delivery dates and release schedules.

  • Ensure accuracy of replenishment system data i.e. (lead-time, forecasted usage, and standard package).

  • Assist in resolution of supplier invoice discrepancies to ensure payment within negotiated terms.

  • Manage the return process for non-conforming receipt issues and act as liaison between supplier and quality while assisting in the investigation and corrective action when necessary.

  • Resolve discrepancies on other material issues with warehouse personnel.

  • Control Supplier On-Time Delivery by managing early/late deliveries and by leading supplier improvement projects where necessary to manage performance.

  • Improve Margins and control negative Purchase Price Variance by negotiating lowest possible acquisition cost or leveraging volume and relationships to avoid price increases.

  • Assist in disposition of obsolete inventory by looking for opportunities to return to vendor or transform to an active part through rework or secondary processing.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work cross functionally with all service center personnel and supplier representatives to manage the incoming supply chain and stocking levels.

  • Ability to negotiate lowest possible material acquisition cost and lead times which meet customer demand schedules

  • Strong Attention to detail

  • Excellent problem solving, multi-tasking and time management skills

  • Ability to prioritize and organize

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

  • 3-5 Years of professional purchasing/buying experience preferred

  • Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel. Proven ability to create complex formulas (v-lookup, if/then statements, etc) and build pivot tables.

  • Effective communication skills with peers and service center personnel.

  • Solid mathematical skills.
