SUMMARY

Maintains resort villas and other buildings by performing routine preventive maintenance duties as follows.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but not limited to. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs basic repairs in the villas and other buildings to electrical fixtures (connects wiring to light fixtures, installs grounding leads, etc.), minor plumbing repairs (including adjustments to faucets, toilet clogs, etc. and repairs to fans appliances including tvs and vcr's.)

Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.

Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.

Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.

Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.

Repairs or replaces defective parts.

Installs special functional and structural parts.

Keep accurate daily call log

Follow preventative maintenance program

Lubricates and cleans parts.

Starts devices to test their performance.

Insures that work area is left in a clean, neat safe condition after performance of duties.

Provides customer service to company standards to guests, making sure all work order requests are completed efficiently and promptly.

Remove and install door locks

Install items such as window shades, venetian blinds, curtain rods and wall fans.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Basic handyman skills and experience in the above duties preferred. Must have knowledge of basic tools.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have good command of English, both written and verbal. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals. Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence. Must be capable of communicating in English effectively to guests, customers and employee.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic math skills including ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide tens and hundreds; and to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and/or schedule form.
