Heritage Bank Staff Accountant in Olympia, Washington

The Staff Accountant provides general support to the Accounting/Finance division and assists in the efficient maintenance, reconciliation, processing and reporting of transactions in an accurate and timely manner, and in accordance with established policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be able to: Reconcile various general ledger accounts and acquisition related accounts, by identifying errors in posting or omissions by applying appropriate accounting standards. Maintain prepaid and accrual posting to the general ledger. Post vouchers for department, as assigned. Provide support researching and resolving account variances in an accurate and timely manner. Prepare and assist with monthly account certifications, status reports, monthly closings and accounting and regulatory reporting schedules. Track and process FDIC settlement transactions. Prepare and submit weekly internal and external reports which include, but are not limited to, the FR2900 and Pricing reports. Plan, organize and prioritize daily workload to meet multiple deadlines and priorities. Perform general administrative functions such as filing, supply ordering, responding to routine inquiries, researching requests from bank personnel and vendors, organizing data or records, preparing reports, while maintaining accurate and auditable records. Maintain records, files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
