Childrens Hospital and Research Center Physician Assistant in Oakland, California
UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland, is currently accepting applications for a Physician Assistant that will support an active pediatric General Surgery and Trauma service. General Pediatric Surgery at Children's has created a unique, specialized team devoted solely to the care of neonates and children requiring surgical evaluation and care. We are seeking a PA to join our pediatric surgery interdisciplinary team in providing seamless care to our surgery and trauma patients.
This position offers unparalleled exposure to a high volume of complex surgical and trauma cases, and requires a high level of autonomy. The Physician Assistant will be an integral part to the surgical team, performing assessment of surgery patients, coordinating patient workups as requested, participating in rounds, assisting in preparing inpatient orders and progress notes, performing consultations, and coordinating discharges. As part of the Trauma service you will participate in the initial management and resuscitation of patients that present to our level 1 trauma center.
To qualify the requirements include: Minimum Requirements: Completion of Physician Assistant Program and current California licensure. BLS required. Experience in pediatrics and pediatric surgery, mandatory. Bi-lingual Spanish communication highly preferred. Skills & Abilities: Computer knowledge. Strong leadership, teamworking, problem solving, and communication skills are essential.
Job Requirements: Education: Completion of Physician Assistant program. Licensure: Licensed PA Certification required. *Experience: *2 years pediatric Physician Assistant experience. Experience in pediatrics and pediatric surgery, mandatory. Preferred: Specialized educational preparation and/or extensive clinical experience. Specialized educational preparation and/or extensive clinical experience. *Knowledge/Skills: *Computer skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team. Ability to work independently, problem solve, and prioritize demands Case management experience Utilization management or experience with health care provider systems. Bi-lingual Spanish communication highly preferred. *Medical Staff Membership: *Required in order to practice at this facility
