Summary This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command, Joint Enabling Capabilities Command (JECC) Responsibilities As a SECRETARY(OFFICE AUTOMATION) at the GS-0318-8 some of your typical work assignments may include: Scheduling appointments and meetings, accepts or declines invitations to official or social functions. Working closely with Command Group staff, JECC Directors, and other appropriate points of contact in scheduling and coordinating all visits, engagements, and briefings. Applying knowledge of the organization and mission of the command and functions of each staff organization, as well as the personal policies and preferences of the Commander in managing the affairs of the office. Receiving telephone calls and visitors and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits. Processing various types of correspondence. Processing Defense Travel Systems(DTS) orders and vouchers for the Command group. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-08, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service: Maintaining the Commander's/Agency Leader's daily operational schedule, personal schedule, and long-range calendar. Completing travel arrangements to include establishing travel itineraries, making domestic and foreign reservations, and preparing and submitting travel authorizations (orders). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level. Additional Information Other Notes: The position has been identified as "Key". "This position is designated as a key position IAW AFI 36-507. Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations. Incumbents of key positions must be removed from their military recall status if alternative for filling of the position during an emergency are not available." Management prefers experience with Microsoft Office Software. Management prefers protocol experience with senior military members, and senior civilian federal employees.
