Primary Role

To provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers by increasing sales in parts, equipment, and supplies to contactors, building owners, and other HVAC industry service providers. Seek remedies to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following:

  • Conduct sales of HVAC parts, equipment, and supplies over the phone and over the counter.

  • Order required parts.

  • Answer customer calls, identify needs and provide solutions.

  • Actively make customers aware of product promotions.

  • Load and unload shipment of parts, supplies, and equipment as needed.

  • Receive and process customer orders.

  • Respond to customer's inquiries, questions, or complaints regarding products or services.

  • Responsible for warranty processing on Trane OEM equipment.

  • Report any inventory discrepancies to the Team Leader.

  • Deliver parts orders to customer locations or job sites as requested.

  • Possess knowledge of the Trane and other vendor lines that are carried in our locations to be able to demonstrate and discuss with customers.

  • Follow up, either verbally or in writing, open quotes, open will calls and customer inquiries.

  • Determine best method to resolve problems to ensure customer satisfaction and company adherence to policies.

  • Provide proactive salesmanship with sales conversations and add-on sales to customers.

  • Assist outside Salespeople with processing orders generated in the field.

  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.

  • Available to be on call when required.

Education & Experience

  • Required - High school diploma or equivalent

  • Required - HVAC sales/warehouse experience

  • Preferred - Previous warranty management experience

  • Required - Ability to provide superior customer service on the phone and in person

  • Required - Identify and take orders for HVAC parts

  • Required - Process sales tickets through the computer system

  • Required - Accept payments from customers

  • Required - Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Word

  • Required - Experience with order entry and inventory management software

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations

  • Required - Valid Driver’s License and good driving record

  • Preferred- Forklift Operator Certification

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to pass drug screening

  • Mobility within the office/warehouse

  • Able to prove U.S. Employment eligibility

  • Ability to regularly lift and move 25 pounds, frequently lift and move 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move more than 100 pounds

  • Ability to communicate with others both written and orally

Work Environment

  • This position works in a typical office / warehouse environment.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • Provide Gold Standard customer service. Be reliable, be responsive, make customers feel valued, be empathetic, and be competent.

  • Return all customer inquiries within 24 hours. Answer customer calls and e-mail quickly, thoroughly and, pleasantly. Communicate with customers in a friendly, professional, and patient manner.

  • Perform all duties with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships.

  • Immediately address any customer’s concern. Request the involvement of other Company personnel as required. Notify Team Leader of any major concerns and the action taken to resolve it.
