External Job Description:

Manages and conducts audits of information technology (IT), platforms, and operating procedures in accordance with established standards for efficiency, accuracy, security and risk mitigation. Interprets federal, state and/or international regulations as they apply to information systems, platforms, and IT operating processes, practices and procedures. Evaluates IT infrastructure in terms of risk to the organization and establishes controls to mitigate loss. Plans audits, analyzes audit results and tests auditing programs. Determines and recommends improvements to current risk management controls. May revise controls for new or modified computer applications to prevent inaccurate calculations, data loss, and to ensure discovery of errors.

Position will report directly to the Corporate Vice President, Internal Audit and is be responsible for all information technology auditing of HII’s three divisions. Includes auditing general IT control activities under Sarbanes-Oxley. Support HII divisions in evaluating and recommending improvements to business practices, processes and control procedures. Position will also serve as technology (i.e., data analytics) expertise supporting HII financial and operational auditors.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in a Computer Science or the equivalent in education, training and experience, plus a minimum of 8 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience. Master's degree and 6 years relevant experience.
