We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Coordinator.
The Project Coordinator for Admissions works closely with the Associate and Assistant Dean of Biomedical Sciences, and Program Directors of the Sackler Institute at the NYU School of Medicine, a division of the Graduate School of Arts and Science of New York University, to plan, coordinate, and implement admissions and recruitment efforts for the PhD and MD/PhD program in line with the mission of the Sackler institute. S/he will lead initiatives and programs that deliver information and services to a diverse population, leveraging the use of technology and social media. S/he will ensure the development and maintenance of an efficient application review, interview, and selection process.
The Project Coordinator will cultivate and maintain working relationships with several constituencies, including but not limited to key external and internal constituents (prospective students, faculty, administrators, and current students) to evaluate and build the reputation of the program. S/he also will continuously evaluate the admissions and recruitment process for Sackler (PhD and MD/PhD) and implement changes in these processes, as appropriate.
Manage and monitor the admissions operations workflow including the processing of onlineapplications and the review of structure, content, and accuracy of all information
Prepares and review documents independently and generates status/progress reports for ongoing and pending Project/Programs. Plans, arranges, outlines and drafts letters, memos, agendas presentations and reports. Advanced analysis is required to present findings. Reviews, edits and obtains appropriate approvals. Responds to more complex correspondence and refers the more complex issues with recommendation to supervisor. Follows protocols as defined by the grant and Medical Centers policies and procedures.
Lead application processing, which includes the coordination and scheduling of interviews,verification of credentials, responding to inquiries, and assigning and managing applicationreviews
Organizes and coordinates schedules, activities and special events. Coordinates conference preparation activities (checking and coordinating the logistics and technical support, making food and beverage arrangements, etc) and other related activities. May assist in special events planning.
Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations Core Values and incorporates them into theperformance of duties
Participates in special Project/Programs and performs other duties as required.
To qualify you must have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration or related field. Two years of experience coordinating Project/Programs or programs or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. Ability to Project/Program manage and to multi task while paying attention to details.
