Job Information

New York University Postdoctoral Associates (Carter Lab) in New York, New York

Postdoctoral Associate positions are available to study neural circuits in the prefrontal cortex, thalamus, and related brain regions. Research projects involve studying different cell types, assessing their local and long-range connectivity, determining how circuits are reorganized by experience, and assessing functional roles during motivated behaviors. Experiments combine slice and in vivoelectrophysiology, two-photon imaging, optogenetics, and behavior, often taking advantage of new genetic and optical tools. Postdocs run their own projects, are encouraged to incorporate new tools and approaches, and often move on to start their own research laboratories.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $62,500 - $65,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Candidates should have a PhD in Neuroscience or related discipline, and ideally experience with slice or in vivo electrophysiology, imaging, and/or behavior.
