Advertised Summary Job Description The Department of Pediatrics is seeking an Administrative Assistant in Pediatric Cardiology (Pulmonary Hypertension) to join our team in a full time, permanent position. Columbia University Medical Center's Department of Pediatrics is a world leader in providing care for children. Our mission areas include Healthcare, Education and Research. We offer care for our patients in over 25 specialty areas as well as individualized care for complex cases. Our Residency, Fellowship and Graduate programs are among the best in the Nation. Our Clinical, Translational and Basic Science research features collaborations across specialties and stretches from the bench to bedside. We also have several active Clinical trials available to our patients. This position will support the department by providing patient centered access to our Pulmonary Hypertension Team.

-Work with patients to field questions, make clinical and research appointments.

-Obtain pre-certifications as needed.

-Use IDX and Crown to disposition patients and scan patient records.

-Coordinate and maintain Director's academic and travel schedules, prepare travel itineraries, submit travel and business expense reports and follow through on associated reimbursements.

-Effectively manage heavy telephone call activity with superior customer service skills.

-Sort and prioritize mail.

-Provide coverage as needed when administrative staff is out of office.

-In collaboration with Research Coordinator, scheduling appointments needed for studies.

-All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, training and experience, plus two years of related experience.

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Strong organizational skills; ability to multitask and remain calm under stressful clinical situations.
