Job Description:

The Certified Medical Assistant functions as an important member of the healthcare teams by providing basic clinical, clerical, and technical support to assist providers in planning for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The individual performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic’s mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

This position will work in the Marshfield Medical Center Medical Office, Neillsville, WI.

WORK SHIFT

Variable Shifts Monday-Friday 8:00am-7:00pm

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

(For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.)

Minimum Required: Graduate of a Medical assistant program. Documented successful completion of the following courses (or their recognized course equivalent):

  • Medical Terminology

  • Anatomy & Physiology or Body Struction & Function or Human Body in Health and Disease

  • Pharmacology

Preferred/Optional: Licensed Practical Nurse license awarded by the State of Wisconsin

EXPERIENCE

Preferred/Optional: Experience in healthcare

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire and one of the following:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

  • Registered Medical Assistant registration from the American Medical Technologist (AMT)

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license awarded by the State of Wisconsin
