Trinity Health EVS Assistant_V10257- Contingent- The Oaks in Muskegon, Michigan

Under supervision of the Environmental Services Manager or designee, the Environmental Support Assistant is responsible for cleaning resident apartments and building interiors so as to ensure a clean, sanitary and safe environment for residents, staff and visitors. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary or appropriate by management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Know, understand, incorporate, and demonstrate the Mission, Vision, Values and Guiding Behaviors of Trinity Health and Trinity Senior Living Communities in behaviors, practices, and decisions. 2. Consistently demonstrate (leads by example) Sanctuary Values to all internal and external customers (residents, visitors, volunteers, and associates.) Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, propagating a calm environment throughout the community. 3. Execute assignments in a culture that is shared and collaborative across all divisions within TSLC. 4. Performs light housekeeping in resident apartments. Such duties may include: dusting, vacuuming, changing bed linens, emptying waste baskets, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, kitchens, fixtures and floors. 5. Clean and polish the community and apartments including windows and mirrors, walls, elevators, ceilings, furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating and cooling units and floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping. 6. Perform laundry functions, including collecting and sorting of soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc.; washing in accordance with established procedures; and folding, stacking, hanging and distributing to residents daily and/or as instructed. Cleans inside and outside of washers/dryers. Empties lint traps as needed. 7. Report extinguished light bulbs, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, malfunctions, breakdowns, etc., to your Manager/Supervisor or designee as soon as practical. Change and install light bulbs as needed and assigned. 8. Complete deep thorough cleaning of entire apartment as needed at time of vacancy. 9. Empties trash and takes to dumpster or designated area. Takes recyclables to designated areas. 10. May be required to assist with moving of resident or community furniture within the building. 11. Perform floor care including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing and disinfecting, etc., as assigned. 12. Follow established safety precautions including fire safety when performing tasks and using equipment/supplies. 13. May be required to perform routine servicing of grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., including sidewalk snow removal; salting; removal of debris; and keeping walkway and entrances clean and orderly. 14. Ensure assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, sanitary and attractive manner to ensure established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained. Maintain adequate supplies in order to perform daily tasks. Ensure equipment and supplies are cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift. Notify manager of any supply or equipment needs. 15. Anticipate the needs of residents and families, going “above and beyond” routinely to provide a comfortable environment and home atmosphere. 16. Respect resident rights, including maintaining the confidentiality of all resident care information, knocking before entering a resident's room, honoring the residents' personal and property rights, informing the resident when it is necessary to move his/her personal possessions and reporting complaints of missing property to Supervisor. 17. Attend and participate in scheduled training, in-service training, mandatory annual in-service training and educational classes as required/needed. 18. Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals in accordance with the community policies and procedures.
