Context and Scope:

Reporting into the GM of Canada, the open role of Sales Director, Eastern Canada , is responsible for the Eastern Canada P&L, is dedicated to building short and long term strategies and partnerships with all customer and brokers while supporting our mutual growth aspirations.

Purpose of Role:

To lead the development & execution of the market, customer strategy and people agenda for both the retail and licensee channels, delivering short- and long-term sustainable growth. Build broader cross functional teams able to meet current and future business challenges through organizational development, coaching and capability development. Maintain high levels of employee engagement and a culture that encompasses Diageo Values.

Key Outputs and Deliverables:

  • Responsible, in line with Diageo Canada’s objectives, for defining and delivering the financial goals in Eastern Canada and devising the plan to deliver against the annual goals.

  • Manage and lead the discussion on Broker’s performance in the Region against pre-determined KPIs

  • Will monitor business performance on a daily, weekly, monthly basis and course correct to ensure that we are able meet and exceed our goals.

  • Outpace the industry in growth

Enable Diageo to be the partner of choice for all Eastern Canada customers.

  • Develop the joint business plans leveraging multi-functional teams in collaboration

  • Leverage customer marketing, marketing, finance, supply chain and our broker to bring innovative ideas

  • Develop a provincial Sales Strategy and partner with the broker’s Regional Sales Director to deliver the execution plan

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • An experienced & deeply collaborative Sales/Business Leader with a strong track record of delivering results over time.

  • Minimum 7 years of Executive/Senior Sales experience ideally with depth in Key Account Management, Sales Execution, Broker management and Customer Marketing

  • Very strong financial capability (can understand a complex P&L in depth)

  • Deep understanding of how brands and categories are built.

  • Previous experience of working with sophisticated retail customers with a track record of building strong relationships partnering to deliver business growth

  • Strong Sales and Commercial strategy skills – evidenced through sustained delivery

  • Knowledge of the beverage alcohol industry and experience in a liquor-controlled environment is a distinct advantage.
