IN-PLACE MACHINING COMPANY INC Maintenace Mechanic in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Under technical supervision, performs basic/moderate maintenance tasks. Inspect and maintain all slides. (Inspect wipers, gib locks, rolling torque) As assigned, analyze parts and equipment after demobe to determine if they are in safe condition to be used again. Ensure all adjustments are done properly and according to function and mechanical prints (e.g. sensors, cylinder strokes, belt tension, pressure settings, flow controls, etc.) Identify and report problems/issues. Assemble both IPM and Customer Equipment Provide necessary documentation and support for IPM Custom Equipment Operating Manuals Maintain machinery used in the manufacturing process in an efficient and safe manner. As required, act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems Ensure dimensional accuracy and quality workmanship. Complete appropriate paperwork Provide feedback to improve programs, processes, tooling etc Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean work area. Maintain lubrication levels of IPM equipment. Requirements Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education High school diploma or GED, required. Experience & Skills Two to four years of progressively responsible related experience. Specifically, this position requires: Technical background Demonstrated mechanical aptitude Experience with a variety of hand power tools including drills, saws, grinders and sanders. Experience with manual machines such as manual lathes, mills, boring bars, VTL\'s, Bridgeports and other standard shop equipment Knowledge and ability to read and work from prints; mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic. Experience with basic hand and power tools Experience with hydraulics a plus Must be capable of verifying part conformance using measuring instruments such as scales, calipers, multi-meters, indicators, gauges, and micrometers. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret internal documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of specifications and information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems using critical thinking skills Ability to organize and manage priorities, meet deadlines, and expectations Ability to follow through on projects from conception to completion. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following: Occasionally sit, use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls Frequently talk or hear Frequently stand and walk Frequently climb ladders and stairs Frequently stoop, kneel, bend or crouch Frequently lift and/or move physical products (up to 50 lbs) Specific vision abilities: include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. These include: forklift traffic, overhead cranes, machining, welding, moving of mechanical parts and moderate noise. The majority of the work is performed indoors in a shop and office enviro ment.
