Ryder System Vehicle Supply Delivery Specialist in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Vehicle Supply Delivery Specialist role is to improve suppliers' production and production planning activities to respond to Ryder's delivery demand. The Vehicle Supply Delivery Specialist will assess current supplier operations, measure, track and maintain the movement of materials from vehicle and component manufacturers to these suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods to Ryder. Perform capacity planning with suppliers to ensure suppliers are capable of meeting Ryder's delivery needs.



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Management, Engineering or related field

  • Four (4) years or more experience in Supply Management, Fleet Maintenance or related field

  • Two (2) years or more with/exposure to manufacturing environments and production lines preferred

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence and persuade others

  • Results driven attitude with ability to hold suppliers accountable for performance

  • Ability to examine processes, identify gaps and drive to root causes of issues

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Fluent in English and Spanish

  • Knowledge of vehicle manufacturing process or related manufacturing disciplines (intermediate level) preferred

  • Strong analytical skills (intermediate level)

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (advanced level)

  • Understanding of Ryder revenue model (intermediate level) preferred


  • Guide an assigned group of vehicle and vehicle component suppliers to improve operational performance by reviewing production planning, new vehicle build plans, aligning slot planning and improving Ryder's on time delivery

  • Measure, track and perform data analysis to monitor performance, identify possible bottlenecks, and hold suppliers accountable for meeting agreed upon delivery targets

  • Conduct frequent visits to supplier facilities to audit performance, identify issues and enforce compliance and improve processes

  • Develop and present findings, recommend action plans and ensure that action plans are carried out accordingly

  • Work jointly with suppliers to continuously improve processes and drive efficiencies in the build-to-delivery cycle

  • Accountable for key vendor measurements and results

  • Performs other duties as assigned
