Job Description:

Position Overview: As a Wood Chip Truck Driver with Robinson Trucking LLC, you will be an integral part of our transportation team, responsible for the safe and timely delivery of wood chips to designated locations. We prioritize the well-being of our drivers and maintain a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Safely operate and drive a Class A commercial motor vehicle to transport wood chips to and from specified locations.
  2. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer, reporting any issues promptly.
  3. Load and unload wood chips efficiently and securely, following company and industry safety guidelines.
  4. Adhere to established routes and schedules to ensure punctual deliveries.
  5. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, hours of service, and vehicle inspections.
  6. Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and fellow team members.
  7. Adhere to all state and federal regulations governing the transportation of wood chips, including weight limits, hours of service, and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  1. Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a minimum of three years of driving experience.
  2. Proven experience as a Class A CDL driver, with preference given to those with wood chip transportation experience.
  3. Strong knowledge of and adherence to safety regulations and procedures.
  4. Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance and inspections.
  5. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  6. Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy loads.
  2. Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
  3. Flexibility with work hours, including occasional weekends and evenings.
