Dignity Health Medical Group – Merced, a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation,is a multi-specialty clinic conveniently located on Mercy Avenue in Merced. Along with our local affiliated Dignity Health hospital (Mercy Medical Center – Merced), we offer an integrated care delivery system that provides high quality, compassionate care in family medicine, internal medicine, OB/GYN, pediatrics, urology, neurology and general surgery.

Responsibilities

This position will oversee our Merced clinic, with a variety of primary care and specialty care clinics. Merced is known as “the gateway to Yosemite National Park” and is also located within driving distance to San Francisco, Monterey and Los Angeles. Merced itself boasts historical buildings, Applegate Park and Zoo, a number of museums and a new multimillion-dollar, three-story arts center, as well as nearby Lake Yosemite which allows for boating, wind sailing, swimming, canoeing and picnics.

Position Summary:

Effectively manages all operational aspects of the assigned clinic(s). Works closely with staff and providers to ensure that all fiduciary and clinic goals are met. Proactively determines workload priorities through planning, coordination and managing staff and providers to meet the administrative, operational and support requirements. Engages staff and promotes a positive culture that prioritizes humankindness and patient-centric care consistent with Dignity Health's mission, vision, and values.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Participates in work groups, teams, task forces and committees to support ongoing improvement in clinic operations. Provides value-added and productive input and expertise to drive continual improvement, support standardization and streamlining and to resolve ongoing patient care issues.

  • Supports the established processes and systems to enhance customer service. Provides coaching to staff to enhance customer service skills and ensure patients and internal employees and providers receive excellent customer service. Ensures a safe environment for patients, staff, providers and visitors, and operates clinic in compliance with all legal, regulatory and Dignity Health requirements impacting areas of responsibilities.

  • Assists in determining the workload priorities to enable timely completion of tasks. Supports the ongoing technical and professional training and development of staff to enhance clinic and individual performance and staff career growth. Monitors work performance of staff and providers and supports necessary training and coaching.

  • Assists in managing the revenue cycle. With adequate management of template (i.e., provider schedules), balances number of visits/services with operational revenue requirements. Supports the management of supply costs, tracks inventory usage, using purchasing information management systems, including maintaining staffing levels that adhere to labor standards and effectively controlling staff premium pay.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and/or additional job related experience in lieu of the degree.

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in related field. Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience.

Special Skills:

  • Working knowledge of community clinic/health center operations.
