Kforce Master Project Schedule in McLean, Virginia

Kforce has a client seeking a Master Project Schedule in McLean, Virginia (VA).Summary:The client is seeking a senior person to provide project scheduling support to a federal program management office in Northern Virginia. Join their team of collaborative self-starters focused on delivering practical and efficient solutions to help their client keep U.S. borders safe and facilitate trade and travel. As part of their high-performing team, you will augment our vital work to provide 'eyes and ears' technology to protect our nation.Your primary responsibility will be to maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for all life-cycle activities for the acquisition and deployment of technologies across five major USBP portfolios. Your support will span more than fifteen technology programs, each with numerous individual acquisitions and deployment projects. In addition to maintaining the IMS in conjunction with client and vendor schedules, you will be responsible for identifying critical paths and communicating risk to portfolio and program managers.The projects you will be supporting are for the acquisition and sustainment of communications, sensor, and surveillance systems and the infrastructure that supports them. The projects are large and complex, carried out by multiple contractors and government personnel, with frequent schedule changes required. Projects follow the DHS acquisition life cycle framework (ALF) and system engineering life cycle (SELC) laid out in DHS MD 102.Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Create work breakdown structures (WBS)

  • Analyze the IMS for opportunities to speed deployment and coordinate schedules across portfolios and projects

  • Maintain related project management artifacts

  • Attend project meetings to discuss and review schedules

  • Develop and analyze schedule workarounds

  • Develop and report schedule status performance and metrics

  • 3 to 10 years of experience and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, management, finance, or information management

  • Professional certification in a relevant field such as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

  • Applicants must be fully authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

  • Previous work with CBP's Integrated Fixed Tower (IFT), Remove Video Surveillance Systems (RVSS), Mobile and Agent-Centric Systems (MACS), and/or Field Surveillance Services (FSS) portfolios is a plus

  • Prior experience in project scheduling and planning

  • Proficiency in MS Project or Primavera P6

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

  • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders

  • Ability to effectively solve problems

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written

  • A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment
