Nursing Registry Positions, there are 4 levels, see below.
There is a minimum requirement of 24 hours per 4 week scheduling period Works at least one ( 1) of those shifts must be a weekend shift every per four-week scheduling period. You will also be required to work 1 summer and 1 winter holiday from the six (6) LUHS recognized holidays, based on organizational need. Eligible for shift ( evening and night) and weekend differential Works in any nursing unit within approved specialty area(s)
There is a minimum requirement of 64 hours/4 week scheduling period Twenty-four (24) of those hours must be on the evening, night shift or weekend shifts. Works one (1) summer and one (1) winter holiday from the six (6) LUHS recognized holidays Eligible for shift ( evening and night) and weekend differential Works in any nursing unit within approved specialty area(s)
Works a minimum requirement of 112 hours per 4 week scheduling period Works fifty-six (56) of those hours must be on a evening and/or night shifts. Works either every other weekend for 8-hour shifts or every 3rd weekend for 12-hour shifts. ( This requirement calls for twenty-four (24) hours of weekend coverage per 4-week scheduling period if you work twelve-hour shifts, and thirty-two hours (32) of weekend coverage per 4-week scheduling period, if you work eight-hour shifts) Works one (1) summer and (1) winter holiday from the six (6) LUHS recognized holidays, based on organizational need holiday requirement Must work one (1) additional holiday on a evening or night shift. Eligible for shift ( evening and night) and weekend differential Works in any nursing unit within approved specialty area(s)
There is a minimum requirement of working 3 out of 4 weekends per 4 week scheduling period. (Weekend is defined as 3:00PM on Friday to 11:00PM on Sunday). Weekend shifts can be 8 or 12 hours in length Works any holiday that falls on a weekend, including holidays that fall on a Friday or a Monday. Works in any nursing unit within approved specialty area(s)
Patient Care & Assessment - Clarifies and implements orders from physician, physician assistant and/or advance practice nurse by administering medications and performing treatments and testing as prescribed by the physician, and documents accordingly (Magnet Force #12). Recognizes symptoms and establishes priorities consistent with patient's condition (Magnet Force #9). Documents ongoing assessments of patient's physical and emotional status in order to address patient needs appropriately (Magnet Force #'s 5,6). Demonstrates mastery of required unit-based competencies and orientation goals.
Plan of Care - Obtains information from patient and/or family to develop an appropriate patient educational plan. Formulates, implements and continually revises patient plan of care based on ongoing assessment of the patient, information acquired from patient’s database, and resources within the medical center (Magnet Force #'s 2,6). Collaborates with other members of the health care team to promote effective patient care (Magnet Force #13).
Required: 2 year of previous job-related experience
Preferred: 2+ years of previous job-related experience
Basic Life Support (CPR)
Nursing - Current Registered Nurse license State of Illinois
Other:Specialty certification in a clinical or functional area of nursing granted by a national nursing
organization is preferred.
