Position Summary: Performs a variety of direct patient care procedures to assist the unit manager, professional staff and physicians in providing patient care focused on the needs of the patient. II. Position Responsibilities: No. Percent of Time Essential Duty Job Duties 1 45% Yes GENERAL PATIENT CARE - Meets the comfort and hygiene needs of the patient by providing care services such as bathing, oral hygiene procedures, hair care, bed pan/urinal use, skin care and garment, linen and bedding changes. Distributes meals and beverages, takes vital signs, collects lab specimens. 2 10% Yes TECHNICAL CARE - Assists with completion of patient testing and treatment procedures, changes dressings, performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation,obtains wound and throat cultures. 3 10% Yes EQUIPMENT - Assists physician and professional staff in equipment supply and set up. 4 10% Yes TRANSPORT - Assists with ambulating patients with assistive devices such as crutches and with transfer/transport procedures. 5 10% Yes COMMUNICATION - Performs required documentation and communicates in a competent and effective manner to meet patient and/or family needs and regulatory requirements.
