Trinity Health ARNP or PA- Medical Oncology in Mason City, Iowa
Mercy Cancer Center is looking for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA). We are beginning a $10 million expansion/renovation for our growing practice! Our provider team is currently made up of 4 Medical Oncologists, 1 Radiation Oncologist and 3 APPS. We are actively developing our Survivorship and Genetics programs. We offer a reasonable schedule with an average daily patient load of approximately 2 consults and 12 follow ups. Providers are typically supported by a nurse and a medical assistant. We offer an attractive call schedule and fair hours. We are also anticipating a transition from Mosaiq to Epic which we are very excited about. The non-physician provider in Mercy Cancer Center provides quality patient care in the outpatient setting. The duties of the advanced practice provider cannot be rigidly defined, but the following duties characterize the commonly expected duties of the position in accordance with state and federal law in collaboration with the supervising physician(s). POSITION QUALIFICATIONS A. Education [formal]: 1. Graduate of a Masters or Doctoral Prepared Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialist, or Physician Assistant program. B. Experience: 1. Demonstrated competence in a clinical setting for 3 years is required. 2. Oncology experience is required; experience can be as a nurse C. Licensure and Certification 1. Must maintain a current license to practice in the state of Iowa as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. 2. National certification is required. 3. Advanced practice nurses: Advanced Oncology Certification through Oncology Nurses Society within 3 years is required. 4. Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa privileges D. Special Skills and Competencies: 1. Possesses or quickly acquires expertise in oncology with the ability to communicate this information to the community, patients, families and providers 2. Ability to be non-judgmental regarding health related decisions. Ability to work with client and families with diverse opinions and diverse religious and cultural ideals and values. 3. Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction and be directly accountable for practice. 4. Possesses leadership qualities including: time management, verbal and written communication skills, listening skills, problem solving, decision-making, priority setting, work delegation, and work organization. 5. Demonstrates working knowledge of personal computer use. 6. Must possess the ability to work as a team.
