This is a high level sales position with the expectation of prospecting new target accounts, working through the sales process on multiple targets simultaneously and execute on closing new accounts within a narrow time frame. The National Account Manager is tasked with developing a layer of large volume customers to diversify the Company’s account base; this is a strategic element of the Company’s overall business strategy for growth and stabilization. The primary objective of this position is to develop a large volume customer base within the in the Construction industry with revenue potential in multiple markets. Selling to executive level decision makers and influencers is critical to the success of this position.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Must possess sales and customer relation skills. Previous sales experience required

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and proficiency in CRM or similar customer relationship software

  • Must possess multi-tasking abilities

  • Must have the ability to work unsupervised

  • Must possess time management skills

  • Strong sales management skills

  • Superior interpersonal and employee relation skills

  • Keep regular, dependable and timely attendance

  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers

  • Must be able to grasp and apply new information quickly

  • Must be able to meet performance, productivity and efficiency standards

  • A minimum of three years of experience selling business to business to industrial/non-construction businesses

  • Proven track record of selling to office based decision makers

  • Ability to present to large and diverse audiences

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting new accounts and working through the sales process to structure national account agreements

  • Grow existing account base and revenue year over year as laid out in business planning

  • Monitor, track and update pricing agreements to achieve optimum pricing levels

  • Collaborate with local sales management teams both on strategies to achieve account penetration and growth as laid out in business planning and on account fleet requirements by market

  • Maintain a target list of accounts in the CRM which have revenue potential within Company’s footprint of >$250,000 annually

  • Ability to work through complex RFP documents

  • Promote a teamwork oriented environment to provide exceptional customer service

  • Build strong business relationships through respect for the customer and a sincere desire to service his/her needs

  • Responsible to regularly and accurately report and document (using company systems e.g. CRM) all prospecting and sales activities

  • Ability to travel with overnight stays

  • Monitor, track and update pricing agreements to achieve optimum pricing levels

  • Settle complaints and resolve disputes

  • Strives to be a team player, helping the Company excel in all areas

  • Brings to management’s attention areas suggestions and areas needing improvement

  • Regular attendance and active participation at Branch Safety meetings
