JOB REQUIREMENTS: Clinical Nurse Specialist-Adult Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplant - 29126 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Work Schedule : This is a full-time, 100% FTE salaried position. The scheduled shifts are primarily Monday-Friday day shifts with some off shifts and weekends. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department. You will work on-site primarily at University Hospital located in Madison, WI. We are seeking a Registered Nurse to: * Provide clinical expertise and support to nursing staff primarily at University Hospital, our level one trauma center, with a focus on inpatient bone marrow transplant and hematology in the adult population. + Areas of inpatient support include the Hematology, Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplantation and Palliative Care Unit (B6/6) with a focus on hematology and bone marrow transplant. You will work in partnership with our oncology CNS. + Areas of outpatient support include the Carbone Cancer Center located within University Hospital and future hematology/BMT support for the Eastpark Medical Center (opening in the fall of 2024). * Implement customized evidence-based advanced nursing interventions, including the provision of direct care, to improve nurse-sensitive outcomes. * Act as a clinical expert for specific clinical populations; two years of inpatient hematology or bone marrow transplant experience is strongly preferred. Work Experience : Clinical Nurse Specialist: * Minimum - Two years of relevant clinical nursing experience. * Preferred - Three years of relevant clinical nursing experience, previous experience as a clinical nurse specialist, experience in an academic medical center. Licenses and Certifications : Minimum: * Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact. * CPR/BLS Certification Preferred: * Certification in specialty area of practice. CNS certification.
