UCLA Health Vocational Nurse - Radiation Oncology - Westwood in Los Angeles, California
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the employee is responsible for the clinical care within scope of practice of all the Radiation Oncology patients. Assist the registered nurse and nurse manager with the clinic operations, including patient flow, supplies and equipment, and the environment of care. Employee will work as a team with clerical support, doctors, therapists, physicists, and other department staff to ensure patient care and safety.
Ability to take vital signs, administer medications, perform POCT testing and obtain Medication refills as needed. Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician. Knowledge of symptomatology of common and or life threatening medical problems. Interpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative working environment with the physicians, staff, and all health providers. Skill to perform CPR. Keyboard literacy skills to access and input data in computerized logging systems. May be required to work in both clinics Santa Monica and Westwood.
Possess license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners.
Possession of CPR certification/BCLS.
Competency in IV skills. Possession EKG, Phlebotomy and IV certification.
Preferred: Oncology Experience.
