Trinity Health Training and Development Leader in Livonia, Michigan
Plans, directs, coordinates and facilitates colleague training and development across the national Trinity Health operation covering over 100+ Medical Group Locations, and 5000+ Colleagues encompassed within the revenue operations of System Office, Regional Health Ministries (RHM), and Patient Business Services (PBS). Interfaces with leaders to determine the learning needs of various audiences, to ensure appropriate learning solutions are applied and aligned with internal strategies and priorities. Responsible for centrally managing a team of resources that will be locally deployed across all revenue operations. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Enterprise Revenue Cycle (RC) Services and Support.

Oversees the design, development, and implementation of consistent revenue excellence training methods and learning solutions that drive organizational effectiveness, increase efficiency, and strengthen colleague knowledge, abilities, and performance.
Oversees the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the methods, modalities, and approaches used for job specific, task-based training and development solutions for revenue cycle operations designed to directly contributing to improved job performance.
Identifies appropriate learning solutions based upon the needs of the various audiences and alignment with strategies and priorities.
Designs and develops programs to enhance leadership and/or colleague competencies, skills and growth.
Oversees the usage and development of new learning technology (i.e., e-learning, social networking, mobile technologies) used to support colleague learning needs and in delivering training and development solutions for revenue cycle operations.
Compiles, monitors, and analyzes staff performance scorecards and employee engagement results.
Establishes and enforces colleague performance benchmarks to allow for strong engagement, productivity, and quality across the organization.
Directs and oversees data analysis and research of the effectiveness of training programs and clearly reporting the ROI of training and development initiatives.
Keeps abreast of and evaluates emerging learning solutions (i.e., materials, techniques and technologies) and trends and establishes a best practice solution to meet the business needs of revenue cycle operations.
Oversees new hire orientation and onboarding, to include scheduling and tracking as well as program enhancements.
Creates and maintains a culture supportive of personnel, fostering individual motivation, teamwork and high levels of performance and accountability utilizing a participative management style to ensure staff retention. Identifies action plans to improve the quality of services in a cost-efficient manner and facilitates plan implementation.
Maintains professional development and growth through journals, professional local, regional, national affiliations, continuing education programs, seminars, and workshops to keep abreast of trends in revenue cycle operations and healthcare in general:
- Develops and implements an annual plan of personal and professional development.
Serves in a leadership role and promotes positive Human Resource Management skills by fostering teamwork between business and clinical stakeholders and by recruiting, retaining, training, mentoring, developing and managing staff to achieve strategic objectives.
Other duties as needed and assigned by the Vice President.
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.
Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of revenue cycle functions and systems, as normally obtained through a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Healthcare Administration, Instructional Design or Organizational Development or a related field, and minimum of seven (7) years of revenue cycle operations, revenue metrics and analytics, and revenue management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred.
Broad-based and comprehensive knowledge of accounting systems and insurance issues, healthcare industry issues and trends, legal issues in field of expertise, required third party and governmental guidelines, and work processing methods and techniques.
Considerable years of progressively more responsible experience in Instructional Design, Organization Development, Education and/or Training including needs analysis, design/development, and project management experience. Advanced and broad knowledge of training and development principles, methodologies, and techniques, delivery and evaluation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Ability to serve as an individual contributor, while exhibiting management skills that emphasize team‑building, strong leadership with the ability to provide clear direction to the department.
Ability to create a culture supportive of personnel, fostering individual motivation, teamwork and high levels of performance and accountability utilizing a participative management style to ensure staff retention. Ability to identify action plans to improve the quality of services in a cost-efficient manner and facilitates plan implementation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively identify, access and facilitate improvements and problem resolution and to present advisory, persuasive and authoritative recommendation to all levels.
Must possess strong project facilitation skills and ability to lead meetings with diverse interests and needs.
Ability to continuously learn and seek professional development and growth through journals, professional local, regional and national affiliations, continuing education programs, seminars, and workshops to keep abreast of trends in revenue cycle operations and healthcare in general.
Demonstrated experience serving in a leadership role and promoting positive Human Resource Management skills by fostering teamwork between business and clinical stakeholders and by recruiting, training, mentoring, retaining and managing staff able to achieve strategic objectives.
Must demonstrate strong organizational skills leading a combination of direct and dotted‑line reporting relationships. Exhibits strong, collaborative leadership qualities that can bridge across multiple disciplines.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
This position operates in a typical office environment. The area is well lit, temperature controlled and free from hazards.
Incumbent communicates frequently, in person and over the phone, with people in all locations on product support issues.
Manual dexterity is needed to operate a keyboard. Hearing is needed for extensive telephone and in person communication.
The environment in which the incumbent will work requires the ability to concentrate, meet deadlines, work on several projects at the same time and adapt to interruptions.
Must be able to set and organize own work priorities and adapt to them as they change frequently. Must be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles.
Must be able to travel to the various Trinity Health sites (X%) as needed.
Must possess the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures.
