Lockheed Martin Stress Loads & Dynamics Analyst in Littleton, Colorado
Description: The Dynamics / Stress / Design Engineer / Analyst will be responsible for:
Performing preliminary and detailed level dynamics/stress design and analysis of aerospace electronic components, spacecraft structures, and test fixturing using standardized processes and tools.
Providing stress/dynamics technical memos and input to data packages to support peer and customer reviews.
Presenting resultant stress/dynamics design and analysis data to product team.
Providing test input/instrumentation data to environmental test personnel and working with senior engineering personnel to interpret/correlate static and dynamic test results.
Understanding and incorporating other applicable mechanical (thermal, materials, etc.) and system level requirements/parameters into the stress and dynamics analyses.
Developing weight-optimized, compliant flightworthy components and structural assemblies which satisfy the contractual design criteria as well as any producibility requirements defined by Manufacturing and Quality.
Microsoft Office (Excel, WORD, PowerPoint).
Exposure to Mechanical Engineering first principles and classical solutions including but not limited to Vector Mechanics: Statics & Dynamics, Roark’s Formulas for Stress and Strain, Mechanics of Materials, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, Probability, and Reliability.
Proficiency with application of closed form structural analysis (Roark’s, Bruhn, Petersons, Shigley’s, Bickford). Proficiency with NASTRAN/ABAQUS static and dynamic solutions, NX/FEMAP FEM/FEA software and the interaction between the two.
Proficiency with interpreting complex engineering drawings and the proper application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
Experience with spacecraft static/ dynamic / acoustic testing. Including test procedure development, instrumentation definition, test direction and post-test model correlation.
Static / Dynamic and/or non-linear analysis experience.
Metallic and Laminate Composites Analysis Experience
Thermal distortion/stress analysis experience.
Vibration (Sine/Random), acoustic, modal, shock test experience of flight hardware.
Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) analysis experience
Ability and willingness to work functional duties with limited budget, requiring occasional extended hours.
