Familiarizes self with menu. Secures clean linen, glassware, and silverware and sets assigned tables spreading clean linens and placing glasses, condiment holders and silverware on table. Prepares side tables with other necessary items that may be required during the course of the meal.

Receives/seats guests, takes orders and answers questions regarding food and/or beverage choices available, offering suggestions upon request. Works according to rigid time schedule securing food and/or beverage from kitchen or bar area. Serves meal or beverage, placing dishes by course in front of each guest. During the course of the meal, continues to monitors the guests needs, refilling beverages and providing additional items as requested to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Upon completion of meal, removes soiled dishes, glasses and silverware and resets for the next guests. Performs basic cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping and vacuuming to maintain a constant and clean working area. Ensures all current sanitation requirements are followed and maintained.

May be required to receive payments, operate cash register, make and return change to the guest directly. At end of shift, completes the Daily Activity Report (DAR), verifying the amount of money collected and drops the cashier bag into the drop safe. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Knowledge of basic arithmetic and cash handling procedures to compute charges and make change quickly and accurately. Must possess working knowledge of sanitation practices and procedures. Knowledge of proper food handling techniques such as the correct sides to serve and remove from. Must be a mature individual who can exercise control over a large group of people to ensure good order and discipline as necessary. A minimum of six months experience is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITY

Works under the supervision of the Waiter Supervisor who grants leave and evaluates performance, initiates disciplinary action and is available to provide guidance and assistance for new or unusual problems. Work is reviewed in terms of customer satisfaction and adherence to established policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is primarily performed indoors in a club/bar setting with adequate air conditioning, heating and lighting. Occasionally, work may be performed outdoors with exposure to a variety of weather conditions. This position is subject to prolonged standing, walking, talking, bending, reaching, stooping and lifting of heavy trays or objects weighing less than 45 pounds without assistance. May be exposed to loud music, cigarette smoke, "rough" language, wet, slippery floors, cuts, burns and bruises.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

As a condition of employment, the employee must be able to obtain a Health Card prior to first day of work. Afterwards, must be able to successfully pass a Food Handlers Sanitation course, thereafter to be updated and maintained annually. Additionally, the employee must successfully complete an annual CARE/TIPS training course. A valid driver's license is strongly preferred, as travel to and from club facilities may be required in the performance of duties. This position is subject to an irregular tour, which includes nights, weekends and/or holiday work to cover all operational hours and special events.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
