Responsibilities

Job Summary / Purpose

The Imaging Support Specialist is responsible for answering incoming calls regarding image management and billing and routing them appropriately. This position requires comprehension of a multitude of workflows related to the electronic delivery of customer’s images to internal/external facilities. The ability to transfer digital images to disks as requested is also a requirement as well as importing outside imaging to PACS from disks or Stratus. The specialist must understand, utilize, and troubleshoot a network of computerized systems for the processing of information, archival, and retrieval of imaging studies. Management of grant patients with collaboration of grant administrators. Diagnostic scheduling to include mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and biopsies. Answering patient questions regarding billing. Rotation of work assignments with varying degrees of complexity is required in a manner that promotes teamwork, collaboration, honesty, respect, and confidentiality which reflects the mission and philosophy of Memorial Healthcare System.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

1. Consistently demonstrates by actions excellent customer relations skills to all internal and external customers. Always practices AIDET.

2. Ensures that correct anatomy sequences are burned to disc.

3. Find physical records using patient identifiers.

4. Utilizes and maintains “Release of Information” records per hospital policy.

5. Maintains fluent throughput of customers by communicating via telephone, intercom, fax machine, etc. in a manner that exhibits high quality customer service and communications skills and includes the AIDET philosophy.

6. Provides coverage for other departmental support positions as needed.

7. Ability and knowledge to create a reference study in hospitals radiology system for placement of outside imaging from other facilities PACS systems.

8. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to problem solve/resolves issues with disc burning for PACS.

9. Runs and ensures appropriate distribution of reports as needed.

10. Demonstrates good judgment in prioritizing data management.

11. Other duties as assigned by management.

Required Education and Experience

High School graduate or equivalent required

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

Basic keyboarding skills required.

Computer Literacy required

Excellent communication skills required

Ability to operate computer, multi-line phone system, paging system, printer, scanner, and fax

Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously; must multi-task.

Ability to communicate with and serve all age groups of customers including those with special needs

General knowledge of office management programs and

Pay Range

$15.00 - $21.47 /hour
