WSP is currently initiating a search for a Structures NDE Engineer for our Lawrenceville office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish a program of Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) for transportation structures, including development of a plan for growth in staffing, capabilities, and market share

  • Plan and execute multi-disciplinary projects applying NDE, structural monitoring, physical sampling and testing to bridges and other transportation structures in support of structural condition evaluation, load rating, forensic evaluation, construction troubleshooting or service life assessment projects

  • Provide data analysis, interpretation, conclusion and recommendations, documented in written reports and presentations

  • Develop internal and external client relationships and establish visibility in professional organizations at the national level

  • Perform other data analysis, project management, planning, proposal preparation, business development in support of the US T&I Structures market segments and the Complex Bridge ATEC.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with emphasis on structural condition evaluation and NDE

  • Minimum M.S. in Civil Engineering or related discipline from ABET-accredited program (or equivalent)

  • Experience with and willingness to perform a range of nondestructive testing methodologies for steel, concrete and other materials in civil engineering applications. Experience must include direct hands-on operation of equipment and data collection, handling, analysis, interpretation and reporting.

  • Experience in data collection and data analysis using multiple NDE technologies such as, but not limited to, GPR, IE, USW, UPE, ER, and HCP

  • Experience in developing formal written reports that present results of engineering analysis and conclusions and recommendations.

  • Experience in developing written proposals, statements of qualifications and scopes of work to solicit projects.

  • Experience in oral presentation of technical and business topics to diverse audiences

  • Ability and willingness to travel and perform field work

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in Engineering, Geophysics, or related discipline

  • Professional registration/licensure in N.J. or other states, or eligibility for licensure (e.g., EIT status)

  • Experience in research and development of novel NDE technologies and/or applications
