As the Country Director for Malaysia at Western Union, your primary responsibility is to drive the growth, with emphasis on growing our digital offerings, of the Western Union business in Malaysia through overall supervision and strategic leadership of the sub-region; articulating a growth strategy and priorities for each of the markets. You will be managing and building strong relationships with regulators at all levels and you will be leveraging on synergies across the sub-region and defining allocation of resources. You will be partnering with Functional / Business Heads (Operations, Marketing, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Business Heads etc.) in order to achieve plan numbers. Last but not the least, you will be fostering partnerships with send and receive country teams and engaging them in regular dialogue to agree on strategies and programs to ensure the corridors’ continued business growth
You will have 15+ years of experience in either Business Development, Marketing, Operations preferably in the Fintech, Retail Banking and FMCG sector with knowledge of key players in remittance with at least 5+ years’ experience in a leadership role overseeing all areas of the business (general management) with revenue and EBIT responsibility. Your strong track record in network expansion, product development & business management will be proven effective to succeed in this role as well as your experience in managing large institutional relationships especially senior level structured relationships (govt / non-govt). You are used to working in an international Matrix organization and multi-cultural environment and you will travel for business purposes. Last but not the least, you have the ability to analyze and plan for P&L statements and lead the annual business forecast cycle.
