Summary/Objective

Participate as a member of the executive cabinet in collaboration with the Superintendent, with responsibilities that include but are not limited to: staffing, student achievement, staff evaluations, parent involvement, school safety, facilities, school climate, budget development, professional development, and community partnerships

Essential Functions

  1. Respond to all internal and external customers, as it relates to position, in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient manner.
  2. Provide leadership in promoting the educational objectives and values of collaborative planning, district curriculum, effective teaching practices and responsive programs and services.
  3. Supervise the IT, Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment, and Special Education Directors in addition to other managerial positions, as needed.
  4. Serve as liaison between community agencies and district administrators and schools.
  5. Research and respond to inquiries from the school administrators concerning building-based issues.
  6. Provide educational leadership, administrative direction, supervision, and technical assistance to support district and school initiatives.
  7. Demonstrate and develop high academic and behavioral expectations, collaborative planning and program development, responsive management, and personal accountability with school and district administrators.
  8. Support the monitoring and evaluating of building administrators on a daily basis in all areas of operations including, but not limited to: conducting classroom visits to assess educational and operational effectiveness, providing guidance and available resources to school administrators and assisting with school needs assessment and school goals.
  9. Review results and/or scores of mandated student assessments for the purpose of monitoring progress and identifying deficiencies.
  10. Attend regular meetings, including principal meetings, as required by the Superintendent.
  11. Visit and monitor schools as required to make appropriate educational and operational assessments.
  12. In collaboration with the Director of Federal Grants, coordinate in-service training and professional learning opportunities for staff.
  13. Participate in the District Curriculum Committee to facilitate required curriculum adoption policies.
  14. Maintain a positive, collaborative, and mutually supportive working relationship with community agencies, parents, students, and district and school staff.
  15. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all policies, regulations and rules.
  16. Perform related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner.
