Forbes Media Paralegal in Jersey City, New Jersey
We are seeking a skilled and experienced paralegal to join our legal team. In this position, you will help lawyers by providing general legal support, preparing and maintaining legal documents, and researching laws and regulations. Organizational and writing skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic are a must.
Provide legal support to the company’s in-house lawyers
General legal department administrative tasks including, but not limited to, scheduling, calendaring, and maintenance of corporate records
Prepare simple amendments to agreements
Update multiple department lists – e.g. foreign and domestic trademarks, advertising representatives, licensees, contributor agreements
Basic document and correspondence drafting – e.g. working with cross-functional teams to prepare basic contracts based upon existing forms; drafting cease and desist correspondence
Support the Legal Department in maintenance of a contracts tracking database
Monitor changes to laws, guidelines, or regulations; submit reports on pertinent changes in law
Assisting with corporate governance matters
Provide support on due diligence efforts
Associate’s degree in paralegal studies required; bachelor’s degree preferred
Industry recognized certification from organizations such as NALA or AACP
3 to 5 years experience as a paralegal in fields other than litigation; in-house preferred, but not required
