Ascension Health Medical Assistant - Urgent Care Ortega in Jacksonville, Florida

We Are Hiring

As a Medical Assistant with St. Vincent's First Care you will have the opportunity to assistwith the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a healthcare provider at both of our First Care. This position supports both the Roosevelt and Normandy offices.

Schedule Full Time, Rotational Hours, Must be available to work weekends and holidays

Clinic Hours:

  • Monday - Friday 7a - 7p

  • Saturday - 9a -6p

  • Sunday - 9a - 4p

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with treatments ordered by physician as supervised by physician or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties.

  • Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.

  • Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.

  • Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.

  • Required Credentials:

  • BLS Providercredentialed from theAmerican Heart Association (AHA)obtained prior to hire date.

  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.

  • National Medical Assistant (MA) Certification - CMA (Cert. Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant)/AAMA Cert. (American Association of Medical Assistants). AAMA, AMT, AMCA, NAHP, NCCT and NHA are acceptable certification sites.

  • Preferred Credential:

  • Completion of Basic Machine Operators (BMO) cert. preferred. Current registration with State of FL as a BMO Operator preferred.

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED required

Work Experience:

  • None required.
