Position Summary: The Bag and Accessories Designer will be responsible for driving the creative vision and design process for licensed retail bag brands. This role will encompass creating designs that resonate with corporate users and travelers in silhouettes such as backpacks, duffels, and luggage. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Pro-active role in all phases of the design and development process: research, design concept presentation, line plan creation, illustrations, color/fit/fabric/trim direction, development including tech pack and factory communication Communicate and present design concepts and product presentation materials that effectively communicate the concept behind the line Collaborate with merchandising and other cross-functional team members to ensure clear direction throughout the product creation process Capacity to manage brand integrity and interpret vision through design and product development Translate market trends to create original bag designs and interpret updates for existing product offerings Create computer-generated artwork that accurately reflects design direction and details Ensure that the product is consistent with business strategy and meets the functional needs of the end-user Gather and present color trend information relevant to specific product categories Ability to follow a product brief and design into a specific price point for backpack, duffels, luggage, and other bag silhouettes Drive value-engineering through the design process Meet timelines on product creation calendar Prepare and assist in seasonal product reviews to Sr. management and merchandising team Partner with Product Development to ensure the technical spec packages are accurate and cost engineer into price points Requirements for Position: Degree in Design or a related field Minimum 7 years proven experience designing and directing the creative vision for a bag and accessories line Expert skills in Adobe Suite Possess an expert knowledge of relevant bag fabrications, trims, and construction Qualifications: Advanced design skills and thorough understanding of the product creation process. Communicate in verbal and written form to effectively and clearly articulate goals and objectives Seek information proactively and work cooperatively in a diverse group Lead and influence others and champion projects using demonstrated creativity and ingenuity Potential travel up to 15% of time Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
