Oracle Principal Technical Program Manager in Irving, Texas

Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product.

Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products. Plan and direct schedules and monitor budget/spending. Monitor the project from initiation through delivery. Organize the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Seven years of project management, product design or related experience preferred.

Techical Program Manager (TPM)

We are looking for an engineering technical program manager (TPM) to join our efforts in providing the best Linux experience for developers and end users in Oracle Cloud. As a TPM, you would be working across various teams and projects to plan and come up with technical solutions to problems in a face-paced and collaborative environment.

Ideal candidate

  • You have deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience with Linux.

  • You have a deep understanding of cloud architecture and usage.

  • You can work well with others at all skill levels.

  • You can clearly articulate ideas verbally and in written form, and can quickly spot and clear up confusion.

  • You have good instincts when analyzing the severity of issues and have excellent problem solving skills.

  • You like to continuously learn new things in a fast-paced environment.

  • You can get things done and take pride in the quality of work you do.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with various Linux teams (development, product management, qa) to deeply understand projects and goals.

  • Define schedules and scope for projects and prepare progress and status reports across a variety of projects in a way that's easy to consume by peers and senior management.

  • Continuously look across projects to spot dependencies and risks to ensure awareness and schedule alignment.

  • Recommend and justify changes to schedules or direction to improve the user experience.

  • Drive projects to completion by using your influence to unblock issues and by coming up with creative solutions to problems.

Preferred Education and Skills

  • BS or MS degree in CS, EE, or related field

  • hands-on experience with clouds: OCI, Azure, AWS, GCP

  • good understanding of the cloud native landscape

  • 5 years of project/program management experience

  • software development experience
