Position Summary:

As a Rail/Transit Design Engineer you would be responsible for day to day design of rail engineering for transit and/or Class 1 Railroads and responsible for the following:

  • Getting direction, perform and coordinate activities from Project Engineers and Project Managers in daily work.

  • Working independently with little supervision.

  • Performing Engineering and CADD design involving the preparation of plans and details for Rail Design Projects using engineering software.

  • Coordinating with all complimentary disciplines (roadway, drainage, utility, railroad signal, architectural, geotechnical, structural, environmental, traffic, and public outreach).

  • Attending technical meetings with project engineers and project managers as needed.

  • Maintaining positive relationships with co-workers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required Licensed as a Professional Civil Engineer is preferred.

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Civil Engineering and Rail Transit.

  • Familiarity with Rail Engineering Standards such as AREMA, UPRR, BNSF, LA Metro, and or SCRRA.

  • CADD Software, with preference for Bentley Microstation, and Rail-Track programs

  • Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, etc.)
