Responsibilities

The Program Manager I will assist and support planning, tracking, coordination, and fulfillment of ACT State & District testing deliverables, and other project work within Research. Ensure processes and procedures follow up to date documentation standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Typical work-related activities include:

  • Coordinate ACT State & District Testing validation and fulfillment efforts with program management and technical staffs to ensure those efforts are done on schedule, issues are escalated and resolved in a timely manner, and all documentation is completed according to department procedures

  • Manage processes related to school and district affiliations: validate all school and district relationships, coordinate with staff to resolve any issues, and prepare permanent electronic reference files for consumption by all related systems

  • Understand Research Services technical issues and strategy; apply that knowledge to work with data manipulation tools, job run processes, and conduct data discovery

  • Coordinate with staff to develop and maintain program management practices including, but not limited to, a program management plan, project schedule, communications plan, risk register, issues log, change log, and customer-facing status reports

  • Become subject matter expert on systems used to fulfill ACT State & District Testing and ad hoc technical Research projects; use this familiarity to educate internal and external contacts and perform user acceptance testing on systems

  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with cross-functional workgroups and external customer contacts

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in education or business administration

  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of related program management experience

  • Demonstrated experience working with a diverse group of internal stakeholders in a matrix environment to deliver contracted services required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic understanding of software including word processing, scheduling software

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint

  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines

  • Ability to communicate with other ACT personnel and external customers through strong, organized writing and verbal skills
