Trinity Health Food Services Aide - Per Diem in Holyoke, Massachusetts

Performs a variety of patient food service duties including working various positions on patient trayline, delivering supplies and nourishment items to floors, working in dishroom putting away stock items, and other related duties. Maintains all work areas and related storage areas in a safe, sanitary condition.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Assumes starter position on patient trayline, putting plastic ware, milk, juice, salads, condiments, etc. on trays.

Assumes toast position on trayline, toasting bread, English muffins, bagels, etc. as required and puts item on patient tray.

Assumes hot food position on patient trayline placing hot food items on trays.

Assumes soup position on patient trayline pouring and placing soups on trays.

Assumes dessert position on patient trayline placing dessert and items from the cold production area on trays. Puts covers on hot food.

Delivers to and picks up food trucks from patient floors.

Works in dishroom, stripping trays returned from patients and loading items onto the conveyor dish machine. When clean, places items in appropriate storage areas.

Assembles and delivers food supplies to patient food pantries on floors.

Sets up and delivers special nourishment items to floors.

Puts away stock items as needed, utilizing proper back safety.

Works in the pot washing area, washing and sanitizing pans, and puts them away when dry.

Maintains all work areas in a safe, sanitary manner by performing a number of cleaning duties including sweeping and mopping the floors.

Assures that all products prepared meet department quality standards.

Maintains productivity to assure that food service needs are met.

Follows safe food handling procedures to assure food wholesomeness at all times.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES*:*

Ability to read and follow directions. A minimum of six months of experience as a diet aide or related job preferred.

Allergen Awareness training/certificate and Serv Safe Management training/certificate preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Requires prolonged standing, walking, or other constant physical movements. Requires frequent lifting of moderately heavy items.

Requires going in and out of walk-in refrigerators frequently.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to the Supervisor, Food Service.

This position is not responsible for supervising the work of any other employees.
