Intel Wired Ethernet Software Application Engineer in Hillsboro, Oregon

Job Description

The Ethernet Customers Solutions (ECS) team within the Ethernet Networking Division (ND) is looking for a Network Software Application Engineer for an exciting and fast-paced role enabling and supporting software drivers for Intel's wired Ethernet products. This position will join a team focused on supporting Open Source and VMware (ESX) operating systems. This position will require a combination of working independently as well as with peers, software developers, architects, and stakeholders to enable customer solutions and resolve issues. Complex issue debug, problem solving, multi-tasking, organization, and stakeholder management skills are critical to success in this role.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills in addition to the qualifications listed below.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customers and stakeholders of all skill levels (novice thru expert).

  • Ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced work environment.



Minimum Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent with 4 plus years of industry experience, or a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent with 3 plus years of industry experience.

  • 3 plus years of experience developing and debugging device drivers using C, C++, or C#.

  • 3 plus years of experience supporting customers in a technical enablement or debug role.

  • 2 plus years of experience in Ethernet networking architecture, protocols, topologies, and networking products.

  • 3 plus years of experience working with TCP/IP networking stacks.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 plus years of experience in binary analysis.

  • 2 plus years of experience with defect tracking applications.
