Trinity Health Clinical Informatics Analyst in Hartford, Connecticut

The Clinical Informatics Analyst is responsible for concurrent and retrospective extraction from patients' charts and entering data into designated registries.. This Clinical Informatics Analyst ensures accurate, complete and timely data extraction and entry into the registries which reflects an accurate portrayal of the patient's course of care across the healthcare continuum. This position works to closely with the Clinical Informatics Analysts, Program Coordinators, and Service Managers to maintain the integrity of the Registries, generate data queries and reports, and ensure compliance with HIPPA regulations. This position is essential to have accurate and up to date registries to support the Sections' research, quality improvement, and accreditation activities.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: RN ? BSN Preferred; or Bachelor?s degree with comparable medical experience.

Job Knowledge: Experience preferred. Knowledge of processes and terminology.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in inpatient nursing required. Clinical chart review and abstraction experience required. Database data entry and/or management experience preferred. Working knowledge of the information systems, database software and data analysis methodologies.

Licensure: Current State of Connecticut Registered Nurse.

Certification: None.

Job Skills: Demonstrates proficiency and accuracy in data collection and entry. Must possess excellent communication skills, negotiation, and organization skills. Excellent knowledge of personal computers and related software (including but not limited to Microsoft Access, PowerPoint, Excel). Adaptability to a wide variety of professional interactions. Comprehensive understanding in the use of medical records to abstract data. Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and E&M; coding, DRG systems. Experience with data collection, basic statistical analysis, and use of data dictionaries preferred. Should have an understanding of quality improvement processes and patient safety goals. Self-motivation, independence, excellent interpersonal. organizational skills, and attention to detail.
