Pfizer Associate, Business Analyst in Groton, Connecticut
This Business Analyst will work under the direction of Business Analysts and Business Partners supporting the Global Product Development organization to deliver key Business Technology solutions. The Business Analyst is responsible for understanding, elaborating, and communicating requirements to ensure technology solutions meet the needs of its intended audience.
Under direct oversight from a senior business analyst or senior business partner this role will:
Establish relationships with customers and members of the project team and liaises between the business and technical members of the project team, ensuring that the project team understands the customer needs
Utilizes specific techniques to elicit requirements from stakeholders, analyzes, organizes, documents, and validates the resulting requirements, and communicates and secures agreement on the requirements across stakeholders
Build, validate and update diagrams, models and other artifacts to describe business processes, conceptual information models , organizational structure, business area context and/or system requirements
Establishes the requirements baseline and traces requirements throughout the project lifecycle
Manages change in requirements over the project lifecycle
Provides input on design to ensure that the design meets the requirements
Supports the development of the testing plan and scripts, supports the execution of UAT testing and ensures that all requirements are met in the final solution
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a scientific discipline or computer science
2-4 years' experience in project level business analysis using standard requirements business analysis techniques including brainstorming, interviewing, requirements sessions, activity diagrams, data analysis, and use cases desired
Familiarity with systems life cycles desired
Relevant experience in Information Technology in the context of the pharmaceutical industry preferred
Facilitation, organization and written communication skills
Ability to work in ambiguous situations
Demonstrated skills in analysis and problem solving
The Preferred Candidate will also have some knowledge and preferably experience in the one or more of the following:
Clinical Domain of Health Sciences and hands on experience working with Clinical Data
Knowledge of Machine Learning/AI in real-world settings with large scale data
Knowledge of scripting and analytics software, such as R, Python, Pipeline Pilot, KNIME or equivalent.
An understanding of deep learning and a range of machine learning methods (e.g. boosting, Random Forests) kernel methods (e.g. SVM), (non-linear) dimensionality reduction and feature selection methods are desired
Knowledge of Bayesian methods and Natural Language Processing
Knowledge of machine learning packages, including deep learning toolkits (e.g. TensorFlow, mxNet, Theano or others).
Knowledge of big data management tools, such as Hadoop, NoSQL data stores as well more traditional relational database
