Spectrum Health Central Monitor Technician Part Time Nights in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Monitors heart rhythm pattern of patients to detect abnormal pattern variances, using telemetry equipment. Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern, and prior variances. Observes screen of cardiac monitor and informs Registered Nurse (RN) of variances to initiate examination of patient. Documents and posts information on patient records. Answers calls for inquiries concerning patients from medical staff and the patient care team.

1/10/2020 - 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

1/13/2020 - 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

1/15/2020 - 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

*1/17/2020 - 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

1/22/2020 - 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

1/24/2020 - 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. TEST**

Scheduling Expectations:

This is a part time night* position with the expectation of working 40 hours every two weeks. This position utilizes core scheduling. An employee will be hired into a permanent schedule that repeats every 6 weeks. The days and hours are already preset and cannot be permanently changed to accommodate a personal or school schedule. This schedule will not have the ability to drop below 40 hours per pay period. However, there is opportunity to trade shifts with other employees or take PTO when a day off is needed.*

Successful completion of Cardiac Monitoring Technician orientation which includes successfully passing the ECG certification. Orientation is mandatory and done during the day.

*Basic Qualifications: *

Education - High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience - Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program

Licenses -

Electrocardiogram (EKG) 90 Days

*Preferred Qualifications: *

Experience - 6 months of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities in health care
