About this Role

Under the supervision of the Membership Director, the Member Relationship Builder, builds relationships with members, volunteers and the community, supports successful membership operations, and provides helpful, friendly and professional customer service. They are responsible for ensuring the membership department conveys the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Southern Maine.

Your responsibilities will include:

Relationship Building Develop positive, authentic relationships within the Y that lead to greater awareness of the Ys mission and impact, growth in number of people served, as well as revenue. Greet all members and guests and provide excellent customer service on the phone and in person by providing complete and accurate information to members. Learn current and prospective members needs and interests through appropriate questioning and listening techniques highlight how the Y can meet these needs and interests. Listen and express self effectively and with an understanding of the needs of a particular audience. Help coordinate and supports community events at the YMCA and represent the YMCA at outside community events as directed.

Operations & Safety Demonstrate clear knowledge and understanding of YMCA of Southern Maine membership policies and procedures by accurately conveying and implementing with members. Is knowledgeable on all programs and membership events. Incorporate YMCA mission and core values in daily interactions with members. Ensure volunteers are successfully onboarded and ready to contribute to the YMCA mission. Provides training and support to membership desk staff. Provides support at major fundraising events. 5. Data Tracking & Documentation Maintain accurate and consistent data tracking and documentation, as required. Register members into programs including completion of all paperwork, receipt of monies and data input into software system. Provide administrative support for the organizations Annual Campaign. Manage all monetary transactions accurately including: accepting payments, issuing receipts, providing change and reconciling cash drawer at completion of shift. Process all membership transactions and Financial Assistance applications effectively and accurately. 6. Other duties as required.
