Kforce Senior Accountant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Kforce has a client seeking a Senior Accountant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (FL).Essential Functions:

  • Prepare month-end journal entries and assist with the preparation of month-end variance analysis and Financial Statements

  • Performs balance sheet account reconciliations; Create and update Excel worksheets as part of the ledger reconciliations, using advanced Excel features

  • Work with various Capital and Operating leases contracts and maintain amortization schedules to record related monthly journal entries

  • Reconcile and record adjustments for outstanding loans

  • Manage fixed assets and construction in progress accounts; Maintain fixed asset system including monitoring construction in progress, adding/retiring fixed assets and posting depreciation entries

  • Reviews financing contracts, lease agreements, and various other documents to ensure that all transactions are recorded correctly and timely

  • Review and reconcile intercompany accounts and assist with eliminating entries

  • Work closely with independent auditors during the annual financial audit by providing supporting documentation, providing explanations of transactions and processes, and providing any information requested

  • Interacts with various departments to obtain current information

  • Reviews various legal documents to ensure that all transactions are recorded correctly and timely

  • Assists with budget/forecast preparation

  • AD Hoc projects or reporting as needed

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field

  • 3-5 years related experience

  • CPA preferred

  • Related experience in various industries

  • Exposure to GAAP rules
